Testing, testing… Here we were on Broadway & 38th street in NYC last week doing a test installation in the Fashion District for the big installation set for July 12. We will be installing 20-25 of these on 8-foot tall poles in the river of people between 36th-41st Streets. Woo-hoo!!

Struck with inspiration during a fiery sunset over the Hudson, Joan Benefiel created these dynamic, glowing sculptures to remember it by. Hand-tinted the colors of the sky that night, the sculptures will be mounted on the tops of the old Pier 42 wooden pilings in the Hudson River, with permission from the Hudson River Park Trust.
Each vibrant sculpture will respond to the light of each new day, resonate with the sunrises and sunsets, and cast colorful reflections across the water.
